Yes. New SmartBoxes and sections can also be used on an existing website with an older template. This is not a one-click update, however.

To make the new areas available, the new framework must first be added. The required SmartBoxes can then be imported individually. Importing alone is not enough: existing modules may display incorrectly or beyond their intended width afterwards. Check each affected area and, where needed, place it in a Custom Section so that it displays correctly again.

Recommended approach

  1. Create a copy of the existing website.
  2. In the copy, add the new framework and import only the SmartBoxes you need.
  3. Check every affected page, including widths, spacing and the mobile view.
  4. After the complete check, connect the newly prepared version to the live domain.
  5. Finally, log out completely so that website information and the sitemap are regenerated.
